    My Story

I came to this work sideways.

I grew up in a musical family. Sound was not something I chose — it was simply present from the beginning. I trained at conservatory, and somewhere in that formation I became aware that music reaches places that analysis does not. It works directly, without explanation.

I studied human movement science, drawn to the body as a place of knowing. That led into naturopathic therapy, and a deeper understanding of how much of what we carry shows up not in what we think, but in how we act, respond, and hold ourselves under pressure.

The organisational path came through practice. I trained in process-based organisational development — learning in real situations and observing how experienced practitioners work inside live processes. My primary mentor was Ton Verhoeven, whose precision in how change moves through human systems shaped how I see this work.

These were not separate directions. They were different encounters with the same question: why do people who understand what needs to change still find themselves unable to move?

    What Became Possible

I have worked with leadership teams navigating genuine organisational change — where the challenge is not defining the direction, but moving when the existing way of working no longer supports it.

I co-founded a participatory health initiative in Rwanda — the MEPR project — bringing together a community of 24,000 people, universities, and government in a bottom-up change process. What made it work was not a predefined method, but the ability to stay with what was actually happening — including friction — long enough for something new to emerge.

In parallel, I have worked with individuals who had done the work — therapy, training, reflection — and still found themselves unable to act on what they already knew. Sound has been central to that work — a passion that became a tool. The shift is not more understanding, but restoring access to direction that can be felt and followed.

    The Work Now

I work with individuals and organisations through Spanda Arts. The work is rooted in the same principles, but takes different forms.

For individuals, it is about restoring access to direction — working with the moments where something in you already knows, but you cannot act on it.

For organisations, it is about how people work together — especially in the moments where things could move, but fall back into familiar patterns.

In both cases, the work happens at the point where understanding is present, but movement is not.

The mind draws maps. The heart is a compass. The will moves the feet.

"Ingmar has the ability to integrate new sciences and deep personal wisdom into our reality. A great guy to work with."
